The Language Access Program of the Administrative Office of the Courts for the State of Utah just approved the following courses for CE credits:

Advance Practice on Consecutive Interpretation- 1.5 CE hours
Advance Practice on Simultaneous Interpretation- 1.5 CE hours
Court Protocol- 1.5 CE hours
Ethics I- 1.5 CE hours
Ethics II- 1.5 CE hours
Team Interpreting- 1.5 CE hours
Use of Equipment- 1.5 CE hours

Dear prospective students/ certification candidates,

I am trying to decide on future dates for training. Sorry for the wait but I was hoping to have dates set up by now. I was informed that the Oral Exam for Federal Certification has been put on hold due to the government shutdown. I was waiting for those dates to set up training close to the exam dates. I am still planning to do training for the oral exams both at State and Federal level but would like to have dates for the exams so as to program accordingly. I appreciate you sharing information about upcoming exam dates and possible dates you might be interested in so I take it into consideration for my planning.

Good news! One more state added to the list of States that approved our courses for Continuing Education credits.  Here is the specific info published by State of Florida Court Interpreting program:

Victoria B. Dopazo is offering the following two online courses: “Ethics I: Theory, Code of Ethics of Professional Interpreters” and “Ethics II: Applied Ethics, Practical Application, and Realistic Scenarios”. These instructor-led online courses will provide an in-depth analysis of the Code of Ethics for Professional Interpreters; and interpretation of cannons and practical examples of their application. These courses have been awarded  CIE credits as indicated below:

Announcing Court Interpreting Training Online

New dates just published. Please spread the word among colleagues and aspiring interpreters.

You can train for court interpreting from the comfort of your home or wherever you have access to a computer.  All you need is a computer from where to log on to the webinars. You will be given an access code to sign up for every session you register. See the scheduled courses and register for the one you prefer. All webinars will be recorded so if you miss a scheduled session you will have access to the webinar for one month. The recorded sessions are also used for practice at home during the week.

This is a 15-hour course: 10 DAYS    1.5 HOURS  A DAY

This course is designed for people who are qualified to sit for the state oral exam. It consists of 10 consecutive days of practice to help you get ready to pass the oral exam.

During these 10 days, you will get ample practice just before sitting for the exam.

Meeting online July 9 to July 20, 2018,

Monday to Friday from 7:30p.m. to 9:00p.m. EST  (4:30p.m. PST)

A total of 15 hours of training at $400. By submitting $45 you reserve the seat. We will invoice you for the balance and expect payment by the deadline.
